Nature Experience in the "Valley of the Alms"
Since 1991 the Grossarl Valley has been a part of the National Park Hohe Tauern, as is generally known as the largest national park in central Europe. [ further details ]
 | | Since then the former mining village of Hüttschlag, which today mainly makes a living from agriculture and tourism, has called itself "National Park Village". At the Talwirt at the Grossarl Valley head a special National Park info centre has been set up, which houses various information regarding the National Park as well as a computer information system and various exhibitions.
There is currently an "Exhibition for all Senses" with the title "Magical Forest".
Special Highlights:
- Elementary nature trail into the Schöder Valley
- Biotope learning path at the valley head
- Valley Museum at the National Park info centre (with a mineral exhibition amongst other things)
