Heugathalm1,235 m (from the village 1 - 2 hours)

The Heugathalm is a hiking destination for any weather and any age. It was built in 1637, and newly-renovated in 1997. Since then the musical owners treat their guests to tasty home-made farm produce. Due to its sunny location and the small children's playground (small animals) it is particurlarly popular with families (ideal afternoon excursion). There are 3 routes to the alm. firstly along the Rosenstein access road approx. 1 km north of Grossarl to the signposted car park (walking time 30 min), then along the same path. Walking time from the barrier to the mountain hut - 15 mins. Another route starts at the Labebbach access road: From the Oberheugath farm (parking) you follow the old, somewhat steeper alpine climb (45 mins.) up to the hut. A particularly pretty, quiet forest path (ideal for walkers) leads from its starting-point, approx. 250 m before the start of the resort of Grossarl North over barren land to the Rosensteinbauer and on to the alm (total walking time approx. 1 ½ hours). Alos possible to go their by taxi.
